Most Arabic people aren't actually dark-skinned, just saying. In reality, majority of them are quite pale, but they've got a it of a golden glow. Try googling some Pakistani modern actresses, they're like that basically.
Though yep, Jasmine's obviously on the dark side.
Actually, actresses in Pakistan are usually supposed to be white because white is apparently prettier for some dumb reason. Actresses are bad examples of actual representation.

ReplyDeleteGloria (of "Daphne") and Lupin III's girlfriend both have unusual hair and eye colors but it doesn't mean anything but it's only done for contrast and colorfulness the same as a girl having, say, naturally green hair and orange eyes. Apparently "peach" or a barely noticeable yellow tinge is enough to land characters on a dark skinned or Black characters list. It's ridiculous. I think this list was good but you're entitled to your opinion.

People need to stop fussing. it's a list of non-white characters. Brown, black, tan, who cares. They're ethnic.
